About me

I am a physicist by education and I am currently active in both teaching and scientific research. More specifically I hold a M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Milan in Italy and a PhD in Physics from the Free University of Amsterdam in The Netherlands. Both degrees were awarded summa cum laude(please use the contact form if you would like to see the certificates)

 

My teaching activity

My tutoring activity began about 14 years ago when I was a Master's student at the University of Milan in Italy. Back then I was a home tutor traveling from home to home in various districts of Milan. I quickly became very passionate about tutoring and shortly after I started working for two of the major tutoring companies in Italy, namely Universitalia and Ad Majora. 

After a while I moved to the Netherlands to pursue my PhD studies. During those years I was tutoring on and off both privately and for a tutoring company, the Einstein Institute.

 

Since 2014 I have been tutoring students from around the globe over the internet. My in-person tutoring activity is only occasional at the moment and virtually all of my tutoring takes place online.

Over the years I have been teaching students from around age 6 to adult learners of about 65 years of age, though the core of my teaching is and has been to high school, college and university students. Besides my tutoring activities I have been teaching University classes in The Netherlands at the Free University of Amsterdam and in Japan at Osaka City University. From in-person home tutor to online tutor

​

I transitioned from a home to online tutor about 7 years ago; at the beginning I was rather skeptical about online tutoring: how can I possibly deliver high quality lessons over the internet? How do I get started? Is it worth it? Do I need to set up a classroom-like room in my house? How does it work with payments?

After a short 'breaking in' period I quickly realised the potential of online tutoring and some of its benefits for the student and for the tutor. I now am an enthusiastic online tutor confident about the quality and value of my services.
