Some students are using or want to use the trial lesson to prepare for a test, more specifically they want the lesson to be on a past paper which spans many topics. Shall I restrict the lesson to a single topic or allow them to use the lesson to solve past exam papers or tests?

From my experience whether the student should be allowed to use the trial lesson to practice past exam papers or tests, depends on several factors, namely:

-Is the student genuinely interested in your tuition or just wants to use the trial lesson to prepare for an exam he or she has within a few days with no intention to take any more lessons? Do you feel the student is trying to take advantage of you and your tuition? -Do you master the syllabus and have enough experience which allows you to give a lesson which spans many topics and solve a past exam paper without much effort or extra preparation? -Since a trial lesson is usually discounted from the regular rate, do you feel you got a decent and satisfactory pay for your work, even if the student stops after the trial lesson? Depending on your answer the lesson may or may not be worth it.
