Wise has blocked my IP address (error 1005) and there is apparently no way to contact them unless I am logged in. Has my account been hacked? How can this be fixed?

While Wise, formerly known as Transferwisem is arguably one of the best online payment platform, their website and servers are no stranger to occasional bugs. Most likely your account hasn’t been hacked and your IP address hasn’t been singled out for any specific reason, but the error 1005 below appears when you try to log in. There is usually no need to panic, rather than a real IP ban it could be just a glitch within the Wise servers, a rather annoying one. To make sure the problem is not on your side just follow the Cloudflare link on the error page (Cloudflare is the company managing Wise online security). The link should direct you to the Cloudflare website where you can find some more details about the problem.

The description should mention that there is no problem on your side (Cloudflare has not detected any unusual activity from your IP address) and that most likely there’s a temporary problem with the Wise server, so you don’t need to worry, your account hasn’t been hacked or singled out.The problem may be fixed within an hour or so. If, after a while, the problem is not still not fixed, restarting your device may at times also fix it.
